Course Objective

The objective of this 30-hour course is to teach instructors and trainers how to organize and teach a course effectively, using existing lesson plans and using the Four Step Instructional Model. Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to plan instruction, using a variety of instructional methods; teach diverse learners; evaluate course outcomes; and address the critical issues of safety and the legal issues of training. 

Instruction Methods:

Methods of instruction include lecture, discussion, virtual classroom exercises, case studies, Microsoft Teams virtual audio/visual material, learner presentations/reports, quizzes, on-site final IFSAC written and practical examination.

 
Course Materials:

Includes handouts, quizzes, class projects, discussion & final IFSAC testing

You will need to purchase and have with you to class the following reading materials.

IFSTA Fire and Emergency Services Instructor, 9th Edition(Students Responsibility)

 
Class Size:

10 students minimum; 25 students maximum.

 

Registration Instructions:

Please complete ALL FOUR STEPS of the Registration Instructions in sequential order.

Step 1 – Download to your computer the NFPA Candidate Application Form. To open the Candidate Application Form your computer must have a PDF reader, such as Adobe Acrobat Reader DC – Free Version.

Step 2 – At the top of the application form click on ‘Add text’ and move the ‘Add text’ symbol to the Candidate Signature Line. Type the following, “Your Full Name – electronic signature” Ex: John Smith – electronic signature

Step 3 – Email completed application form to leslie@fowlerfire.com

Step 4 – Please click on Add to Cart for completion of the registration process.

Prerequisites: Fire Service Instructor I (DPSST or Pro Board or IFSAC)
