Course Objective

The objective of this course is to provide the student with the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to address the administrative and operational challenges of the fire service in the 21st century. Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to function as a participant in the day-to-day administrative/operationally-focused process of fire service organizational activities, including human resources management, community outreach programming, maintaining of central record/data repository systems, budgeting, inspections/pre-incident planning, safety program development, in-basket assessment, and incident planning with multi-agency involvement.

Written and practical examinations for final IFSAC Certification.

NFPA Standard 1021 Professional Qualifications

Instruction Methods:

Students will demonstrate proficiency and complete all required assignments. This program involves individual/group project assignments outside normal class time with classroom presentations requiring a solid background in verbal and written communication skills. All project assignments and presentations must be submitted at the designated time with all group assignments requiring mandatory participation by group members.

 
Course Materials:

Includes handouts, quizzes and class projects.

You will need to purchase and have with you to class the following reading materials.

Text: IFSTA Chief Officer 4th Edition (Students Responsibility)

 

Class Size:

10 students minimum; 25 students maximum.

Registration Instructions:

Please complete ALL FOUR STEPS of the Registration Instructions in sequential order.

Step 1 – Download to your computer the IFSAC Candidate Application Form. To open the Candidate Application Form your computer must have a PDF reader, such as Adobe Acrobat Reader DC – Free Version.

Step 2 – At the top of the application form click on ‘Add text’ and move the ‘Add text’ symbol to the Candidate Signature Line. Type the following, “Your Full Name – electronic signature” Ex: John Smith – electronic signature

Step 3 – Please email your completed application form to leslie@fowlerfire.com

Step 4 – Please click on Add to Cart for completion of the registration process.

Prerequisites: Fire Officer 3, Fire Service Instructor 2 (Pro Board or IFSAC)
