Fire Fighter 1 IFSAC

Course Objective

To provide students with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to safely and effectively perform basic firefighting operations as part of a firefighting team. Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to understand and apply the principles of fire behavior; building construction; water distribution systems; fixed fire protection systems; ventilation; hose streams; fire prevention; and inspections, ladders, and rescue techniques.

Written and practical examinations for final IFSAC Certification.

NFPA Standard 1001 Professional Qualifications

Instruction Methods:

Classroom or Virtual platforms and on-site sessions, demonstrate proficiency in the practical evolutions skills, complete all required activities and homework assignments.  

 
Course Materials:

Includes handouts, quizzes and class projects.

You will need to purchase and have with you to class the following reading materials.

Text: Essentials of Fire Fighting 7th edition

(Students Responsibility)

 
Class Size:

10 students minimum; 25 students maximum.

 
Registration Instructions:

Step 1 – Download to your computer the IFSAC Candidate Application Form. To open the Candidate Application Form your computer must have a PDF reader, such as Adobe Acrobat Reader DC – Free Version.

Step 2 – At the top of the application form click on ‘Add text’ and move the ‘Add text’ symbol to the Candidate Signature Line. Type the following, “Your Full Name – electronic signature” Ex: John Smith – electronic signature

Step 3 – Please email your completed application form to leslie@fowlerfire.com

 

Prerequisite:

Must be 18 years of age

Instruction Methods:

Methods of instruction include lecture, discussion, virtual classroom exercises, case studies, Microsoft Teams Virtual audio/visual material, learner presentations/reports, quizzes.

IFSTA Hazardous Materials for First Responders, 6th Edition(Students Responsibility)

Class Size:
