Course Objective:
This refresher course provides students with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to safely and effectively perform basic firefighting operations as part of a firefighting team. Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to understand and apply the principles of fire behavior; building construction; water distribution systems; fixed fire protection systems; ventilation; hose streams; fire prevention; and inspections, ladders, and rescue techniques.
Major topics covered in this course are incident command, building construction, ventilation, water distribution, hose streams, fixed fire protection systems, fire prevention, inspection preplanning, ladders, and rescue procedures. Methods of instruction include lecture, discussion, and team-focused practical exercises.
Written and practical examinations for final IFSAC/Pro Board Certification.

Methods of instruction include lecture, discussion, virtual classroom exercises, case studies, Microsoft Teams Virtual audio/visual material, learner presentations/reports, quizzes.
