Course Objective:
This 40-hour Classroom Delivery Course is the second level of standards-based certification available to firefighters. Course materials provide additional information on topics included in the Firefighter I program and allows the firefighter to participate in certification testing to obtain Firefighter II certification based on NFPA 1001, 2019 edition. Firefighter II topics include: Incident Command Systems, Firefighter I Skills Review, Utility Emergencies, Firefighter Safety Skills, Fire Suppression II, Rescue Skills, Pre-Incident Survey and Prevention/Public Education, Vehicle Rescue, and Fire Cause.
Written and practical examinations for final IFSAC Certification.
NFPA Standard 1001 Professional Qualifications
Instruction Methods:
Classroom delivery sessions, demonstrate proficiency in the practical skills evolutions, complete all required on-line homework assignments.
Course Materials:
Includes handouts, quizzes and class projects.
You will need to purchase and have with you to class the following reading materials.
Text: IFSTA Essentials of Fire Fighting, 7th Edition (Students Responsibility)
Class Size:
10 students minimum; 30 students maximum.

Step 1 – Download to your computer the IFSAC Candidate Application Form. To open the Candidate Application Form your computer must have a PDF reader, such as Adobe Acrobat Reader DC – Free Version.
Step 2 – At the top of the application form click on ‘Add text’ and move the ‘Add text’ symbol to the Candidate Signature Line. Type the following, “Your Full Name – electronic signature” Ex: John Smith – electronic signature
